Quick Answer
Your Naukri applied jobs are in Application Status under My Naukri on the website, and under Applied Jobs in the menu on mobile.
- Each application shows a status, from Applied and Application Sent to Shortlisted, Not Shortlisted or Job Closed.
- Jobs with an Apply on Company Website button are applied to on the employer's site, not with your Naukri profile, so track those yourself.
- Naukri's FAQ caps applies at 50 a day and 150 a month.
To hide jobs you applied to and keep every application in one list, use the HideJobs browser extension on Naukri.
Where Naukri keeps the jobs you applied to
Naukri applied jobs are listed in Application Status, under the My Naukri menu at the top right of naukri.com. On mobile, open the menu (the icon at the top left) and tap Applied Jobs. Naukri's job seeker FAQ puts it this way: "you can view all the jobs you have applied to under the 'Application Status' section on the website."
That list holds what you applied to with your Naukri profile, and it is where you check what happened to each application. To keep jobs you already handled out of your next search, mark them as applied with HideJobs and hide them right in your Naukri results (below).
What each Naukri application status means
When Naukri tells you the status of your application has changed, the application has moved to one of the statuses below. The meanings in the middle column are Naukri's own words from its FAQ.
| Status | Naukri's meaning | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Applied | Applied to Job | Nothing yet. Keep searching. |
| Application Sent | Application sent to recruiter | It has reached the recruiter. Keep searching. |
| Application Viewed | Application viewed by recruiter | A person opened it. Make sure your phone and email on Naukri are current. |
| Resume Viewed | Attached resume in application viewed by recruiter | The recruiter opened the resume attached to your application. Reread the job so you are ready if they call. |
| Shortlisted | Recruiter marked your application as shortlisted | Expect contact. Read the job again and prepare for a screening call. |
| Not Shortlisted | Recruiter marked your application as not shortlisted | This one is closed for you. Move on. |
| Contacted by Email | Recruiter sent you an email on your registered email | Check the inbox of the email address on your Naukri account, including spam, and reply. |
| Job Closed | Job is no longer accepting applies | No new applies. If you heard nothing, treat it as closed for you. |
Only Shortlisted and Not Shortlisted record a recruiter's decision. The other statuses record what happened to the application, so an application that sits at Application Viewed has been seen, with no shortlist decision recorded yet.
When a status changes on Naukri, move the job in the HideJobs job tracker too: Not Selected for Not Shortlisted, Interviewing once a call is booked. Your list then matches Naukri, and your company-site applies sit next to it.
Jobs you apply to on a company website
Some jobs on Naukri cannot be applied to with your Naukri profile. Naukri's FAQ says: "If you see Apply on Company Website button, you cannot apply for this job with your Naukri profile." Naukri also says it "aggregates jobs from across the internet," and that in most cases these jobs "are marked with a prominent globe icon on the Search Results Page." If you apply to one, you "will be taken to the company's career page where you may be asked to fill out an application online." Naukri advises you "to use discretion while applying to jobs or sharing your information on non-Naukri websites."
Before you leave for the employer's site, click Mark as Applied on the job's card in Naukri. HideJobs then asks "Add to Job Tracker?" and, when you click Add to tracker, saves the company, the job title and the date you applied, so a job you see again weeks later is already marked. More on the tracker below.
Stop seeing jobs you already applied to on Naukri
The HideJobs browser extension adds a Mark as Applied button to every job on Naukri. It works on www.naukri.com search results and on a job's own page, including the "Jobs you might be interested in" list beside it. The extension opens in your desktop browser's side panel as Job Search Filters.
Switch on Applied in the Job Search Filters panel. Each time you apply, click Mark as Applied on the job's card in the results, or next to Save and Apply on the job's own page, and the button changes to Applied. Every job you marked, including company-site jobs, is hidden while the Applied filter is on.
For a job you read and decided against, click Mark as Dismissed instead. It is hidden the same way while the Dismissed filter is on, so you stop opening the same job twice. A small badge on the page shows how many jobs each filter hid. Click it when you want them back for a moment.
Keep every Naukri application in one tracker
When you click Add to tracker after Mark as Applied, the job goes into the HideJobs job tracker as Applied, with its title, company and salary (a range such as "4-7 Lacs PA" is saved in rupees). If you are logged out, it offers to save the job after you log in.
In the tracker you move each job through statuses such as Applied, Interviewing, Not Selected or Ghosted, add notes and contacts, and set a follow-up date. You see it all as a board or a table. For how to set one up, see how to track job applications.
The tracker also shows up on Naukri itself. When you are logged in, a job card from a company you already applied to gets a line such as "Applied to 3 jobs at this company", or "Likely applied to this job on Naukri" when a job you tracked at the same company has a very similar title. Click the line to see those jobs. It is a label only: the job stays on the page, so you decide whether a second apply to that company makes sense.
Spend your daily applies on jobs worth it
Naukri's FAQ says: "You can apply to a maximum of 50 jobs in a day and a maximum of 150 jobs in a month," and "This quota gets reset on the 1st day of the month." At 150 a month, applying to everything that matches your title runs out fast, so each apply should go to a job where you have a real chance.
The number of applicants is a good first filter. In HideJobs, tick Application Volume in the Deep Scanner and click Scan. It reads the "Applicants:" line from each job's own page in the background and puts a badge on the card: Low (under 10), Medium (10 to 99) or High (100 or more). The list stays put while it scans, and the Hide jobs menu hides one level, for example every High job.
Two more filters keep jobs you would never apply to off the page. Click the eye icon next to a company name to hide every job from that company, including in "Jobs you might be interested in". Tick keywords in the Deep Scanner to flag jobs whose full description mentions a word you choose, then hide the flagged or the unflagged ones.
